  • Providing quality personnel, material, and equipment resource definitions 
    • Should the MES maintain Master Data for QM-Staff, Test Material and Test Devices?
    • Are there definitions for QM Staff, QM Resources and QM Materials available?
    • Where was this kind of definition maintained previously?
    • Who maintains these definitions?
    • Which definitions are available therefor?
    • Are these definitions sufficient?

 

  • Providing information on resource capability
    • Should the MES maintain information about resource capabilities?
    • Are the staff skills documented?
    • Are the resource skills (e.g. Laboratory devices) documented?
    • Are the properties of the Test Materials documented?

 

  • Ensuring that requests for acquisition of resources to meet future test capabilities are initiated
    • Should the MES support Operations to guarantee sufficient resources? If yes, how?
    • Are resources still needed to fulfill future testing activities?
    • For which planning horizon the availability of resources should be ensured?
    • Who is responsible for the timely provision of these resources?
    • At what times should the resource requirement be indicated?

 

  • Ensuring that equipment is available and that job titles are correct and training is current for personnel
    • Should an MES ensure that test equipment is available and that staff qualifications are valid?
    • Is the qualification of the QM staff sufficient?

    • Which location information should be deposited?
    • Which assignments are there?

 

  • Collecting information on the current state of personnel, equipment, and material resources
    • Should an MES record the current status of QM resources?
    • How should the status be recorded?
    • Which statuses should be recorded?

 

  • Maintaining test personnel qualification test information
    • Who has to do which qualification tests?
    • What results does he have to achieve in order to carry out certain tasks?
    • Who maintains this information?
    • Who makes this information available?
    • In which system are they provided?

 

  • Maintaining equipment capability test information
    • Should the MES provide information on test facilities for specific equipment (e.g., scales, filters, etc.)?
    • Should the MES provide information about common equipment testing capabilities (usually covered by equipment properties)?

 

  • Managing reservations for future use of quality test resources
    • Should the MES be able to manage and reserve test weights or specimens (e.g., for visual inspection, metal detection, etc.)?
    • Should the MES manage and reserve resources for automatic or semi-automated inspections?
