WG 3.12 Electromagnetic Compatibility
Focus
The "Electromagnetic Compatibility" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:
- EMC of industrial process and laboratory equipment
- Electromagnetically compatible realisation of process and laboratory installations
- Realisation of round robin tests to optimise testing in the laboratories
- Support of new technologies at operators' plants in terms of EMC
- Support also provided with regard to international standardisation in this area
- EMC tests on equipment based on the Profibus/Foundation fieldbus
- Adaptation of NE 21 to meet current test specifications (IEC)
Advantages
- Avoidance of unprofitable investments
- Knowledge of operator requirements for speedy adaptation of NE21 and inclusion of requirements in IEC standards
- Active influencing of norms and standards to safeguard user interests
- Further development of current manufacturer products adapted to reflect the requirements of users
