WG 1.4 Asset Administration Shell

Focus

The working group "Asset Administration Shell" deals with the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) developed by Plattform Industrie 4.0 as a solution to implement the digital twin of process automation equipment. The goals are:

• Develop a common understanding of the terms, sub models and related initiatives
• Definition of use cases of AAS from the perspective of PCT engineering and facility operations
• Development of recommendations for the application of AAS, if necessary in cooperation with other NAMUR working groups
• Exemplary implementations of AAS at member companies
• Collaboration with other associations to place NAMUR interests

Benefit

• Information provided by the equipment manufacturer in form of an AAS can be used during the whole life cycle
• Uniform NAMUR requirements facilitate cooperation for member companies as well as manufacturers and service providers
• The Digital Twin with its communication capability is the breakthrough technology for Industry 4.0
