WG 1.1 PCT Engineering Processes
Focus
The "PCT Engineering Processes" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:
- Process of PCT engineering and its interdisciplinary embedding into the whole project
- Specifics of the PCT engineering process in case of brownfield and migration projects
- Integration of the processes of Owners Engineering and Third Party Engineering
- Different data sets and information for diverse users along the plant lifecycle
- Further development of the PCT planning style, e.g. regarding new IT tools, modular plant design or additional requirements resulting from IIOT
- Interfaces to other Working groups of WA 1 which have their respective reference points in the PCT engineering process
Advantages
- Uniform basis for the execution of PCT engineering
- Common foundation for the interdisciplinary communication about automation in an investment project
- Consistent implementation of regulatory requirements concerning safety, environment and quality
- Starting point for future efficiency increase in PCT engineering, e.g. by enhancement of data and information integration
