WG 3.1 General Sensor Technology


The "General Sensor Technology" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:

  • Preparation of NE 145 "Description of Measurement Errors"
  • Reaction of field devices in case of power failure
  • Diagnosis of field devices


  • Standardisation of diagnosis of field devices (NE 107)
  • Demands of NE 53: Prevention of unexpected events with field devices
  • Standardisation of device descriptions concerning information on measurement errors
  • Contributions to the reliability of field devices
  • Unification of user interfaces
