WG 4.9 Hazard Alarm Technology

The "Hazard Alarm Technology" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:

  • Requirement profiles for the use of hazard alarm systems in the process industry
  • Integration of fire alarm technology in automation maintenance process strategies (e.g. risk based maintenance)
  • Application of the IEC 61508 within the fire alarm technology
  • Effects of the standard for voice alarm systems at industrial sites
  • Potential evaluation and strategies for a needs-driven fire detector replacement
  • Concepts for hazard alarm and emergency response center management at process industrial sites
