WG 1.3 Information Management and Tools

Focus

The "Information Management and Tools" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:

  • The Digital Twin in Process Industry as far as E&I is concerned
  • Replacement of document handover by data handover
  • Choosing the necessary information data models from national and international standards to cover all information that is needed by Digital Twins
  • Proofing the compatibility of information models to each other
  • Interface to other NAMUR WG which create specific information models
  • Interface to NAMUR WG 1.1 which develops change processes for information models

Advantages

The use of harmonized, standardized and continuously updates data models and the definition of harmonized structures during the complete lifecycle

  • allows a fast access to all data and documents of a device in a maintenance case,
  • prevents the operators from a long-during as-built-status-check before optimizing, extending or rebuilding the plant,
  • creates a better integration method of engineering data, and, thus,
  • improves the change between planning and operating a plant because of a lower error rate and a shorter commissioning.
