WG 4.3 Training and Continuing Education

Focus

The "Training and Continuing Education" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, its formulation of requirements and content design of operational training as well as its involvement in national and international standardisation:

  • Young engineers and scientists and demographic development
  • Entry requirements for training
  • Requirements for training and continuing education in a changing industrial PCS environment
  • Impact of digitisation and computerisation on occupational areas, training content and skills development
    - of employees with pertinent qualifications
    - of non-specialist employees acquiring cross-occupational qualifications
  • On-the-job qualification concepts: consistency of training and continuing education
  • Capacity building by means of new educational/didactic approaches both in vocational training and on the job
  • Professional development by means of co-operative/dual study courses
  • Re-considering job profiles in the process industry
