NAMUR at Industrial Automation 2013

As one of the support associations, NAMUR assists the HANNOVER MESSE trade show in the development and realisation of concepts for the leading Industrial Automation trade fair.

This commitment was visible at the trade show itself in participation in the MES Congress and Efficiency Arena and the presence of NAMUR with its own stand in Hall 11. The support of NAMUR companies in the Industrial IT Forum was also part of the programme.

NAMUR was able to contribute support in this context to help the trade show in its transformation from a classic equipment trade fair to an event. This support also involved the provision of information which could not be obtained in this form via the internet. The coupling of interesting topics and top-quality representation then attracted participants.

Interesting presentations and lectures during the MES Congress were followed by around 130 participants, with NAMUR representatives being involved in the majority of these. In the Efficiency Arena, Environment Minister Peter Altmaier underscored the importance of this topic. The panel discussion on IT security, to which a representative of a NAMUR member was invited, played a significant role in the Industrial IT Forum.

The HART Communication Foundation celebrated the 20th anniversary of its establishment during the trade show. A further representative of a NAMUR member participated in this event with a presentation, clearly expressing the NAMUR opinion on the significance of HART technology at the subsequent panel discussion.

With over 6,500 exhibitors from 62 countries, the HANNOVER MESSE 2013 trade show once more proved, on the whole, to be a successful event with similar visitor numbers (225,000) to those in 2011.
