NE 156 is newly published

from 2019-02-05

The NAMUR Recommendation NE 156 has been released and may now be obtained from the NAMUR Office.

This NAMUR recommendation was developed in a joint working group with the VIK Verband der Industriellen Energie- und Kraftwirtschaft e.V. The contents have already been published as VIK recommendation VE 33 edition 2016-01. With this NAMUR recommendation NAMUR has adopted the contents into its regulations.

Abstract NE 156 "High-voltage motors ─ Technical requirements for three-phase asynchronous motors with a rated voltage of more than 1 kV"
(Edition: 2019-02-05)

As a rule, high-voltage motors are individual applications with a rugged and low-maintenance design. Special service conditions such as in the primary industry, power plants or refineries, and the increasing importance of the availability and hence quality of such motors as a result of the competitive pressure in ever more globalised markets call for additional design and construction measures.

To permit efficient order placement, operational use and, where relevant, warehousing it is also necessary broadly to harmonise requirements, specifications and design guidelines.

These recommendations apply to high-voltage three-phase asynchronous squirrel-cage motors. By analogy, they may also be applied to other motors such as synchronous motors. In this case a special agreement is needed to define those parts of this recommendation that shall be applied.
