WG 2.4 Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)


The "Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:

    • Planning processes for the implementation of MES solutions
    • Requirements and technical concepts for improving an operational MES infrastructure
    • Economic potentials of MES solutions
    • Optimisation of internal logistics and production control
    • Creation of appropriate organisational structures for the development and operation of MES


    • Avoidance of unprofitable investments during the development of MES solutions
    • Use of MES planning guidelines before making investment decisions
    • User-oriented requirements and guidelines for the creation of system developments
    • Active influencing of norms and standards to safeguard user interests
    • Platform for exchange of experience
