WG 1.3 Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)

Focus

The "Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)" working group addresses issues including the following topics in the context of its experience exchange, its concept developments, formulation of requirements to be met by automation solutions and its involvement in national and international standardisation:

  • Requirements for data structures
  • Appearance of data structures
  • Interchangeability of data records between CAE systems
  • Single master data set for process engineering industry

Advantages

  • Basic requirement for the digital plant
  • Independence of CAE system manufacturers
  • Minimise the training effort for engineers, technicians and CAE operator
  • Minimise licensing costs
  • Efficiency gains in the planning
  • Coordinated influence on the development of CAE tools
