NAMUR at Process Automation (INTERKAMA+) 2010

The "Process Automation" trade fair at Hannover Messe was held this year with the banner "INTERKAMA+" merely post-positioned in brackets. This name change emphasises the close proximity of "Process Automation" to "Factory Automation" and "Industrial Building Automation", the two other events held in the context of the principle "Industrial Automation" trade fair. Many exhibitors do indeed offer products in all three areas of interest, and visitors will also profit from the synergies of an integrated "Industrial Automation" event.

The name change is a visible demonstration of intensive efforts to make Hannover Messe an even more attractive event for the automation engineering sector in the process industry and attract both exhibitors and visitors to an equal degree. Many topics and approaches have been considered and addressed in recent years, and further measures will be taken to increase the appeal of "Industrial Automation" even more.

As one of the associations supporting "Process Automation", NAMUR actively contributes to Hannover Messe in the development and realisation of concepts of this nature. NAMUR is simultaneously involved in the actual trade fair itself, with a stand in Hall 7 this year on which NAMUR and the automation trade association of ZVEI exhibited together as "Partners in Process Automation".

Hannover Messe 2010 was marked by cancelled flights and lower visitor numbers, with the important area of foreign visitors being particularly affected. Little of this was noticeable on the NAMUR exhibition stand which, as in previous years, proved to be a popular and lively meeting point for the automation community. In an extremely pleasant atmosphere, trade visitors had the opportunity to exchange information among themselves, with exhibitors and representatives of the two associations present.
