Among the multitude of bus systems for the chemical industry, PROFIBUS DP has established itself as a communication medium for the device technology described below. This bus system has also proven itself with respect to influence by electrical and magnetic fields (which is unavoidable in electrical engineering). The recommendation describes the installation of PROFIBUS components in switchgears conforming to the PNO Guideline.
