NAMUR Annual General Meeting postponed to 2021

from 2020-05-04

NAMUR and Schneider Electric jointly agreed to postpone NAMUR’s Annual General Meeting by one year to November 2021. Both parties are determined to put safety and health of all participants and employees first. Considering the current situation and uncertainty around the future development of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictions, the intense technical exchange and the community spirit typical for this event cannot be achieved. NAMUR and Schneider Electric look forward to preparing the meeting jointly the following year.

Schneider Electric put its sponsorship of the NAMUR Annual General Meeting in Bad Neuenahr, Germany, under the slogan “Boosting Your Asset Lifecycle for Power and Process”. Preparations of the meeting this year were in full swing, when both NAMUR and Schneider Electric reviewed recent developments and projections in light of the COVID-19 crisis. Based on current available knowledge and local health and government regulations, we expect relevant measures will still be in place through November, especially relating to large assembly as the NAMUR annual meeting. Also, it seems unreasonable to restrict the number of participants as the atmosphere and spirit that characterizes this event cannot be maintained considering social distancing and other factors.

Schneider Electric and NAMUR will continue the close cooperation and prepare for a joint event in the usual November timeframe in 2021. Also, Schneider Electric’s support for the corresponding conference of NAMUR China will be shifted by a year. Further details will be communicated at a later point of time. Also, NAMUR will update its members how the NAMUR Members´ Meeting will be conducted this year as it is usually held together with the Annual General Meeting.
