NAMUR Annual General Meeting 2021 – virtual forum for communication and exchange between NAMUR and its partners

from 2021-05-08

NAMUR and Schneider Electric have jointly decided that this year’s NAMUR Annual General Meeting should again not be an in-person event. Instead, there will be a sponsorless virtual exchange of ideas and technical know-how whose scope will clearly exceed that of last year’s successful virtual workshop.

This year, Schneider Electric was meant to sponsor NAMUR’s Annual General Meeting to be held in Bad Neuenahr under the motto ‘Boosting Your Asset Lifecycle for Power and Process’. However, the first preparatory meetings this year were strongly influenced by the impressions of current and future COVID-19 waves. Given the ongoing tense situation, the uncertainty regarding vaccination progress and the rules for social distancing which will probably continue to apply until the next AGM, Schneider Electric and NAMUR concluded that it would not be possible to organise a full-scale in-person event in November. ‘We are still convinced that a scaled-down in-person event does not reflect the spirit of this meeting’, said Nils Weber, Managing Director of NAMUR e.V..

By the same token, it is important, especially in times like these, to continue the professional dialogue and offer platforms for communication and exchange. This is why NAMUR will provide a virtual event format with presentations and workshops on the traditional two main meeting days, i.e. on 04 November from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and on 05 November from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. There will be an opportunity for informal networking on Thursday night. At a virtual event, the exchange with the sponsor cannot be as intensive as usual and this is why NAMUR is looking forward to welcoming Schneider Electric as the sponsor of a future Annual General Meeting. In the light of the positive experience gathered with online workshops in 2020 the scope of this year’s event will be considerably widened. As at regular AGMs, NAMUR will facilitate a dialogue with representatives of manufacturers to a limited extent. Registration details will be published at a later point in time.

We are looking forward to meet everybody in good health and in person in 2022.
