Abstract to NA 180 "Comparison of execution model NA 35 and HOAI"

As part of NA 180, a comparison of the phase models of NA 35 and the HOAI (Official Order of Fees for Services by Architects and Engineers) is presented.

Building automation has increased sharply relative to process automation in the pharmaceutical and chemical process industries. Particularly in pharmaceutical production, building automation is used in cleanrooms in ap-proximately equal proportion to process automation. The NA 180 describes the differences between the two phase models and familiarize process engineering planners, plant operators, and all project participants with the HOAI project management process, as well as to clear up any misunderstandings and foster a common understanding among all parties.

NA 35 project management in process engineering and HOAI project management in building automation can easily coexist within a project. Each side must be familiar with the other project management model, however. Identical terms in each system have different definitions, objectives, and results.

The NA 180 makes both parties aware of the differences between the other party's phase models in industrial project management.
