Cooperation intensified - BSI becomes 159th NAMUR memberfrom 2018-11-14
Arne Schönbohm (r.), President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), and Felix Hanisch, President of NAMUR, seal the further cooperation.
At the NAMUR Annual General Meeting on November 9th, 2018, cooperation between NAMUR and the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) was placed on even more stable pillars. The BSI was added to the NAMUR as 159th member. At the same time, NAMUR became official multiplier of the Alliance for Cyber-Security.
For many years, the Federal Office for Information Security and NAMUR have maintained joint contacts. The BSI was already involved in the development of NAMUR Recommendation NE 153 on Automation Security as an expert, which was published in 2015. In 2017, the NAMUR worksheet NA 163 followed with the support of BSI.
Now both organizations formalized their future cooperation and documented the determination to drive IT security as an integral part of a safe, secure and reliable process industry and to bundle their joint competencies.
