Christine Oro Saavedra appointed NAMUR General Manager as of August 01st, 2022from 2022-05-26
The NAMUR Board of Management has appointed Mrs. Christine Oro Saavedra to NAMUR General Manager as of August 01st, 2022. She will succeed Nils Weber who will take over the lead of the group “Process Control Technology – Leverkusen/Berlin” at Bayer in Leverkusen on the same date.
Christine Oro Saavedra has 15 years of experience in the field of process engineering. Ms. Oro Saavedra studied water- and soil management in Lüneburg and completed her degree in Bolivia. Afterwards she worked in the field of environmental consulting (mining sector). When she returned to Germany in 2008 she worked in several functions in the field of water-/wastewater engineering. As a project manager she realized several projects in the field of water treatment from planning to completion.
In 2015, she moved to Bayer Technology Services, where she worked as a consultant in the area of "Reliability & Maintenance". Here she developed and implemented, among other things, the concept of a training academy for "Reliability and Maintenance".
In 2018, Ms. Oro Saavedra moved to Bayer’s site in Bergkamen and took over management of maintenance and repair workshops, where she is strongly committed to innovative concepts such as augmented reality, IOT and condition monitoring.
The NAMUR Board thanked Nils Weber for leading the NAMUR office during difficult times with the pandemic challenging the entire organization. Thanks to his dedication and innovative ideas, NAMUR was as productive as ever and remained the acknowledged team of automation experts in the process industry. This is best expressed in “Turning Expertise into Excellence”, NAMUR’s claim that Nils helped to shape. The NAMUR Board wishes Nils Weber continued success and all the best for his future career and welcomes Christine Oro Saavedra in her role as General Manager of NAMUR.
