NAMUR as a user association of automation in the process industry has many member companies, which have production sites and service activities in China. Therefore it was a logical step that NAMUR decided to hold a conference in Shanghai in November 2009 under the headline –NAMUR comes to Chinaâ?. The conference turned out to be very successful and there were 88 registered participants from 19 member companies.

Apart from exchanging experiences and ideas, one of the main objectives of the conference was the definition of topics with considerable importance for the companies. These identified topics form the starting point for future experience exchange. NAMUR established several working groups in 2010 to dig deeper into these topics that are of special interest in the Chinese context.

The results of the working groups will be presented during the next NAMUR conference in China in November 2010. But presentation of results will not be the only purpose of the conference. It will again be a great opportunity to share knowledge in the wide field of automation with colleagues.

The second NAMUR conference in China will take place in Shanghai on November 18th to 19th 2010. Pepperl+Fuchs, the sponsor of the European NAMUR general meeting in 2009, will also be the sponsor of this event. 
NAMUR is looking forward to an interesting event focused on automation technology in process industries.
