"NAMUR Acitvities in China" – the second NAMUR conference in China

The first NAMUR conference in the Asian economic region was held in November 2009 in Shanghai. It took place under the motto "NAMUR comes to China", and its primary objective was to offer a platform for an exchange of experience between users of automation technology in the process industry in an economic region of significant importance for NAMUR companies. As a consequence of this conference, seven NAMUR working groups were established in China to address a variety of topics.A NAMUR conference was held again in Shanghai on the 18th and 19th of November 2010, the second NAMUR conference to take place in China. With the number of participants markedly exceeding 100, indicative of a welcome growth trend, the event was held under the motto "NAMUR Activities in China". All working groups presented their results for last year in this context, while simultaneously sketching ideas for their future activities. Overall, an extremely promising development was apparent and, most importantly, the quality of contributions was extremely high. This conference was also characterised by a very open and frank discussion culture, illustrated by the enormous interest of participants in an exchange of experience with colleagues.NAMUR selected Pepperl+Fuchs as the partner for the NAMUR conference this year. A very successful and extremely interesting Annual General Meeting 2009 had already been organised in cooperation with this company in Germany. Pepperl+Fuchs is a very successful medium-sized enterprise on an international level which is primarily known in the process industry for its explosion protection solutions. With representatives including the CEO, Dr. Gunther Kegel, Pepperl+Fuchs presented the company portfolio and innovative developments in several contributions.A NAMUR conference will be held once again next year in China. The sponsor of this event will be HIMA, also an internationally-successful medium-sized company with German roots.
